Student Expectations (SEs)

Unit 1 - Defining Coaching and Leadership
- We will research definitions of leadership and coaching we will be able to define leadership and coaching.
- I will communicate and describe, written and verbally, my own definition of leadership and coaching.

Unit 2 - Identifying Our Leadership and Coaching Style
- We will research different leadership and coaching styles
-  I will communicate and describe my own leadership and coaching style

Unit 3 - Creating a Vision
- We will research and explore the importance of creating a vision for your life, your team, and the people that you lead.
- I will create a vision for myself for the rest of the school year and for the rest of my high school career.  I will create a vision for the type of team that I want to coach and for the type of program that I want to run

Unit 4 - Building Relationships
- We will research the importance of building relationships in fulfilling your vision and in getting the most out of the people you coach and work with.
-  I will communicate how I plan to build relationships with all of my stakeholders to create the best opportunity to see my vision grow into fruition.

Unit 5 - Establishing Your Culture
- We will research the importance of establishing the right culture, what that culture looks like, sounds like, and feels like, and how to establish and maintain that culture.
- I will communicate what my ideal culture will be and I will create the rules and expectations needed to maintain that culture, and I will create consequences and plans of action for redirecting behavior when my expectations aren't being met.

Unit 6 - Teaching Fundamentals
- We will research and discuss the importance of teaching basic fundamentals of your organization/sport in growing and developing your players/people.
- I will identify the basic fundamentals of my sport and I will be able to teach it to my class.

Unit 7 - Your Philosophy of Coaching and Leadership
- We will define leadership and coaching philosophy and we will research the leadership and coaching philosophies of other coaches.
- I will be able to communicate clearly and fully my philosophies on leadership and coaching.

Unit 8 - Getting the Job
- We will learn what it takes to get an interview and to have success in your interview.
-  I will setup and interview with a coach on my campus and go through the interview process.

Unit 9 - Leadership Skills
- We will research different leadership skills.
- I will identify which leadership skills are most important to me and identify which skills are strengths and weaknesses for me.
